Painting cows and horses

Playing with the wooden figures has been a lot of fun lately.
I bought a few blank kokeshi dolls from a fellow seller on Etsy, and found some blank animal wooden figurines in a local toy store. This was a start of a new batch of fun. It is very far from serious painting, but it certainly is very cheerful and playful. Both of my kids joined in at some point, and we had a few hours of good painting together.
Here is what I came out with. Please don't judge too harshly, this is all very new to me.

Getting the house ready for the holidays, getting into the festive mood, trying not to be overwhelmed with the mundane.

Sad, yet very beautiful.

A new one has hatched and looks exactly as the older one, only a bit smaller.

Did I invent these?

Well, probably I did not, but it felt like I did. (click to see larger images)
I started using those with my daughter, and then I printed out and laminated some more and used them in my Art lessons for 3-4 year old kids. And now finally I am ready to show them to the world:)

Here they are, my traceble animals. Will put them in my Etsy shop after posting here. What I do with them is I let the kid trace the easy shape of the animals head, and then let them draw the middle, body or whatever else they feel like drawing. I find that having a countour of the head the kids have more confidence to finish the drawing, while having a freedom of their own drawing.

Something I painted today wishing for snow, a cozy lazy day and some good apples.
