Here goes another month

Still not much time to write. Most of the time I spend teaching the older kids and cooing with the little one. Time seems to be playing tricks with me. Sometimes a week feels like a day. I try to enjoy and take in every moment with the baby, since now I painfully realize how fast that time goes. Ilya is a true bundle of joy in all the sences of these words. Andrei and Anna turned out to be excellent older siblings and my heart sings when I look at them together. As for me....It looks like a new awareness of the environment and the food that we eat has come toward me. We have always tried to eat healthy , but lately I keep bumping into various resources regarding animal cruelty and treatment of cattle on big farms. For example I never knew that cows were fed a diet with an addition of other dead cows. It struck me as such a horrific truth, that I am still getting over the fact. Probably many of you know this, but for me it was a very scary revelation. It looks like I am heading toward a vegetarian lifestyle, or something close to that. Also I have been discovering more and more of Waldof education and I must say that I am very pleasantly surprised. What was just a hint of a vision somewhere inside me turns out to be a well developed phylosophy and I am eagerly reading more and more about it. Here are a few quick pictures of us and the work that I managed to get done:)please visit my etsy shop for new pieces.

Ha! Ha! This sounds like me over the past few months (minus a baby, that is). . .I recently read a book called 'The Ethics of What We Eat' and the news is revolting. My biggest revelation with that one was the way turkeys are produced, processed, etc. Disgusting. And, I've had a lot of internal Waldorf thoughts going on for several years. I finally picked up a book by Rudolf Steiner about a month ago and found it to be amazing. I started with 'The Kingdom of Childhood' and am now on 'The Renewal of Education'. In some ways, I wish I had known about him years ago when I first started homeschooling my now 15 year old. Oh well. Live and learn!!! Enjoy your day. . .

I can't comment neither homeschooling, nor the healthy way of eating... The first one is something new about Bulgaria and as far as I know there're just a few families that make attempts to homeschool their children. As for the second issue we simply try to be careful when choosing the food we buy, but we have no time to pay special attention to this, because we are always in a hurry, too busy with our everyday tasks!
I see you are doing your best to raise healthy and artistic children and I admire you for that, Vita!! The photo with your kids is lovely, I have the feeling there's a halo around you!:)... You are such a devoted mum, no wonder why your time is melting... It's nice that you can find some spare hours for art! xx

Thank you for the wonderful comments ladies! I am so happy to see you "here"
Rossichka, I think the food in Bulgaria is much better than what we have here. The economy in Europe probably has not reached the speed and quantity of mass production that is going on here, and that is goo (IMHO). So you don't have to do all that crazy stuff to get meat that tastes like meat:)
peacewok design--so happy to find a kindred spirit!!!!!

О-о, спасибо за милые слова, Вита!:) Я так рада, что когда-то нашла тебя...
Especially in the villages the vegetables, the cheese, the milk and meat are "natural" products and they are really very delicious!:) I know that we must take care, I'll have you in my mind as an example...:))

Vita, you are doing so much--homeschooling, a baby, and your art. I'm amazed you find time for it all.

I am also fascinated with Waldorf education. We started a little Waldorf co-op preschool in our building (just five 3-year-olds) and are thinking of renting a space next year to take in more kids. Ike loves it!
