Trying out something completely new

I have been wanting to try this for a very long time now. Finally I got my glass paint and 3 white cups from the kitchen cabinet and started experimenting. To tell the truth, the first cup was a disaster. For some reason I thought one can use brushes with these things...But once I got past the first one, I started enjoying what was taking place. And here are a few images to show off my creative efforts. (I wonder if this is how my nesting instinct is coming out?) . I got a wonderful response on Facebook and a few orders right away, so now the big plan is to get more good cups and start a new line of products.( I just like how it sounds;))\

Custom Lullaby Book finished!

My biggest project of the past year I must say. Very happy that I got it done despite the fatigue and total lack of creative juices. It is good to have a back up "creativity battery" somewhere deeper than I even know existed.
As for the rest of the life, I am going on 24 weeks , expecting a very active baby(judging by his behavior in the womb) before the year is over. Feeling big and clumsy and unenergetic, but still very happy that this little one did not leave me. A few glimpses from the lullabies that I have been working on.

Listening to Butterflies

Just a hint of what's going on with me lately....Afraid to scare these little butterflies away. Praying that this time around there will be a happy end

Lullabies

There is a very interesting project on the horizon and truly hope it works out. I might be illustrating a book of lullabies for a Russian poet/singer. I am really enjoying the illustrations and the music that I work with. This is my first take/sketch on a song, will be listing the original on Etsy.

Feeling a bit lightheaded and happy for no apparent reason--just like this dog.

Under the Weather

This has been a very snowy winter for us here in NYC. The day when I painted these rabbits it was snowing heavily and me and the kids were home warm and cozy, painting, learning, drinking tea. I like days like this. The rabbit watercolor is listed on Etsy, both print and original.

And my felting experiments continue, I have already half a dozen various critters. Some of them have been given to my little ones to play and some I am listing in my shop. Please come by and check them out!

My Alphabet

Nothing new this week(we are all sick and in bed with a nasty cold), so I will share what I listed on Etsy last week. My new Alphabet print. I had a great time making it and I hope it will help some little ones master the ABCs.

We are back

And we are cold. I can uderstand when it is cold and snowing, but this kind of weather is a perfectly wasted cold, to which I personally do not see any rhyme or reason. Not that anyone has asked me to moderate the weather...Just complaining

Painted 3 new ACEOs today. After a break I usually have a bunch of images that need to be painted, or I will explode.
And here they are the winter bird, Neptune and the Moving Snail. (all listed on Etsy)

Bells and Trees

Wishing bells and wishing trees
wishes come to life through these

And the rest of this poem of mine got lost somewhere in the November wind. I am trying new techniques with hand painted Christmas ornaments, and as always painting little things. The good news this week is, my neighbor from upstairs is away. And it is sooooo quiet! I am almost content with the city :) Almost

New Designs

Yesterday I received a new batch of pendants. Some have my old favorite designs, and some are brand new. Just in time for the holiday shopping. Please check them out in my Etsy shop and let me know if you like the new ones:) I always have a very hard time photographing them , even though I set up the lights and the background etc..For some reason photography does not come easy to me.

Deep in the woods

Dedicated to my favorite Tree that was killed by the last tornado we had about a month ago. It was a very old oak Tree with huge roots. We would sit under it and have lunch on nice days. It was blown out of ground completely and lay like a huge whale tossed onto the shore...We miss you Tree!

Something old

It's horribly grey and rainy here these days. The kids get to be extremely annoying, and I get to be very irritable if we stay all day inside. Out of boredom and desiring to recapture some of the old ideas I go digging in one of the "boxes" filled with my old works, half finished and waiting for a day like this. This creature has been waiting to come out into the world for some years now. 8? 9?10? She got a facial lift and a bit of a makeover, and I am honored to present to you this old friend of mine.

Miss Janet and her lovely cattle

Among other title options I had "Miss Janet and her 17 rabbits", "Miss Janet and her 38 octopuses", "Miss Janet and her wild snakes"...We had a lot of fun with this:) The kids picked up the game rather quickly.
And TADAH~ Here she is in all her beauty, a first free standing polymer sculpture figure painted with acrylic.

I need a garden

I really think I do need a garden. I do not have any more room on my window sills, and I keep painting flowers.

For some reason my Etsy shop has been very very quiet lately, and I have time to take it easy, however I would be glad to see a bit more activity in there. Those of you who have Etsy shops(or any other shops for that matter) will understand exactly what I mean.
I am in and out of the city, trying to get as much green color in my system as possible.

The Play

The past several days were dedicated to the play our children's theatre put on. I did some of the decorations (the goat portraits on the back wall, and the whimsical flowers on the front wall). Also I had the fun of painting about 20 faces in 20 minutes. It was great! Next time I think I will do a lot better:)

Sleepy Tree and Flying Fish

Two new pieces this week.
The sleepy tree, is the tree that grows dreams. Good dreams for anyone who might need them, just come and pick the one for you.

And also there these new fish, fancy and dressed up. They are much more girly than the ones that came before them, may be the visit to several Aquariums inspired me to see more of the "girlyness" in nature.

Birdface and Her Tea

An old character of mine, that I revisited.
She is a woman, yet she is a bird. She loves tea, just like me. And she has two pet owls.

Please welcome my dear friend Birdface.
